When visiting Las Vegas, the amazing food, shows, gambling, drinks, and casinos can quickly add up. But did you know that there is a free and passive app that you can play to quickly and easily redeem points for free hotel room nights, money for casinos, free drinks, discounted and free show tickets, and discounted food in Vegas? I passively played the MyVegas games for about a week and a half (and gambled $0 in it) and was able to score a free night at the Bellagio for our recent trip to Vegas. I wanted to make a basic MyVegas beginner guide if you are hoping to easily score some free and discounted stuff for a Las Vegas trip!
When I first read about MyVegas slot games, I really thought there was going to be some kind of catch and it was going to be too good to be true (it’s not). With rooms at the Bellagio often being around $400, I assumed that staying at the Bellagio would likely not be an experience in my future, however, thanks to the MyVegas games, I was able to get our night there for free (I just had to pay the $50 resort fee). I recently posted about our trip from Vegas to various national parks in the area, and shared where we stayed and what we did in Las Vegas while we were there if you are interested!:
Some important things to note about MyVegas Rewards:
- The hotel comps cannot be redeemed for weekends
- You cannot redeem several “one night free at _____ hotel” and use them all at the same time
- Some of the rewards cannot be combined or there is a limit on how many you can redeem, so make sure you be strategic about that
- If you want to cash in for the casino vouchers, you have to have to be a paying hotel guest at that specific hotel for a certain amount of nights (stipulated in the terms and conditions), and having free nights at that hotel from MyVegas does not count!
- Make sure you thoroughly read the terms and conditions for the rewards to make sure it works with your trip before you invest the time to win these rewards!
MyVegas Games Beginner Guide
There are 8 MyVegas games that all work together to earn you Loyalty Points (LP). Within the apps, you can use LP to trade in for rewards like free hotel nights, food discounts, free show tickets, etc. You can play each of these games daily to reach each individual game’s cap for daily LP to earn upwards of about 40k LP. The first step is going to be to create an account that you will login to for all of the apps you plan to use so that they can all be linked and your LP can accrue between all of the games. Recommended is signing in through Facebook (there is a MyVegas Facebook game to earn LP through), but you can also login through Apple.
The beauty of these apps is that you can play them in the background of your every day. Just let the slots run on auto on your phone or iPad and then do something else while it runs. Then come back in an hour or so, and you’ve earned LP points! While I am writing this blog post, I have it running 🙂
Definitions for the purpose of clarity:
- Chips: the apps will give you free chips all the time. You can also buy chips with real money (don’t recommend as it defeats the purpose of trying to get free stuff). You use chips to play slots/games in the app.
- Loyalty points (LP)/ VIP Rewards Points: Points that you can earn in each app, either through time spent in app or amount of chips bet. These can be cashed in for rewards such as free nights at the Bellagio, Cirque Du Soleil tickets, discounted Vegas buffets, etc.
I really need to emphasize that I do NOT encourage you to spend money for chips in these apps if your goal is solely to earn LP to get free rewards. Spending money in these apps is mostly unnecessary (they give you free chips all the time) and kind of defeats the purpose of trying to get free stuff!! If you want to spend money in these games because you like playing them and you have the money to do so– go for it! But please make sure you are doing it responsibly <3
I’m going to list the different games/apps in the order of which I personally find the easiest/fastest to get points.
MGM Slots Live
- Daily LP earning potential: 8,000 LP points/day; Resets at 7 am (EST) and 7 pm (EST)– meaning that you can start earning LP again at these times
- Earn LP based on time spent in app– amount bet is not important
- Best Strategy: bet low and let run on auto (normal speed) until you reach max points with the green check
POP! Slots
- Daily LP earning potential: 8,000 LP points/day; Resets at 7 am (EST) and 7 pm (EST)
- Earn LP based on time spent in app– amount bet is not important
- Best Strategy: bet low and let run slot game run on auto (normal speed) until you reach max points with the green check
MyVegas Bingo (iOS/Android)
- Daily LP earning potential: 4,000 LP points/day
- Earn points based on time spent in app– amount bet/winning Bingo is not important
- Best Strategy: just let the game run in the home screen or play games in Bingo– you don’t even have to play. Just let the game run for an hour or so until you get a green check to indicate you have reach your max LP for the day
myKONAMI Slots
- Daily LP earning potential: 4,000(+ more) LP points/day
- Awards LP based on the amount bet per spin.
- I like this one though because you can get 4k LP from spinning + MORE for watching ads
- You can earn additional LP (besides spinning slots) in this game. The first is by watching ads by clicking the button in the bottom right corner. Each one will earn you 2 million chips and 40 loyalty points (although after about 12-15 ads, it will stop awarding me LP and only give me chips)
- The second way is by clicking on the MyVIP rewards (or by clicking the VIP points/LP points counter in the upper toolbar) in the bottom middle of the screen. You can then click the button that says “Watch video for loyalty points”. Each ad is about 60 seconds long and gives you 100 LP points. I can earn like 1k+ LP points watching ads before it stops letting me watch them.
- Best Strategy: Try to rack up about 100 million chips by watching ads first (over the course of a few days– also utilize other ways to get free chips) so that you don’t run out too quickly. Then choose the “Lotus Land” slot machine and bet 255k chips and set it on “turbo” and “auto” to make the spins go by faster. I can let this run for about 1.5 hours and max out on LP (this will be indicated by a grayed out VIP rewards symbol at the top
- How to get chips for slots: daily bonuses, hourly bonuses, watching ads, daily challenges, bonus tickets, and the photo/sticker/pack collecting
MyVegas Slot
- Daily LP Earning potential: 4,000 LP across all platforms; Resets daily at 12 am (EST)
- Earn based on bet made per spin (Apple devices), or active time spent in-app (Android)
- I don’t care for this one as much because I find it more difficult to earn chips (compared to myKONAMI) and I often find myself running out of chips before maxing out of LP for the day (since I have Apple devices).
- This one does give daily bonuses for chips AND LP points, so it’s worth checking in on the app daily at least to earn those daily free points without doing anything.
- Best strategy: Bet low and let run on auto until you reach max points with the green check if on Android; If on Apple, try to earn chips in free ways and bet around 200k chips and let run on Auto mode (and add turbo–the lighting bolt symbol) until you reach max LP OR run out of chips.
MyVegas Classic (Facebook)
- Daily LP Earning Potential: 4,000 LP – Earn based on bet made per spin or hand played in blackjack
- I never actually use this one however, this post on Reddit provides a lot of helpful information, as well as resources to earn a bunch of free chips!
MyVegas Blackjack (iOS/Android)
- Daily LP Earning Potential: 4,000 LP or more –
- Earn based on active time spent in-app (Android) or on the bet made per hand played (iOS)
- I also never use this one because it requires more active game play that I’m not interested in participating in– I prefer to be passive in earning LP
Tetris
I never use this one because it requires active game play, but apparently it is very easy to rack up points (although unclear how much you can earn daily).
