Friday Favorites: Volume 39

Favorite Things

It’s been a while since I posted a Friday Favorites, so you would think I have a lot to share (spoiler alert: I don’t). Things have been same old, same old here. Maybe that’s why I’m only at Volume 39 of Friday Favorites when I am like 4 years into this blog 😉

Only thing really going on here is that I’m about half-way through the 75 medium challenge, so sometimes things feel a little bit monotonous; however, I’ve been feeling stronger and happier, which was the goal!

Primary Bathroom Refresh

I’ve been documenting our primary bathroom refresh on Instagram to give our previously grey bathroom a little bit of color. Once I completely finish, I will make a post about everything, but for now, here is a before and after with new paint, a DIY framed mirror, and new light fixtures! You can see all of the progress and the process in the bathroom refresh highlight in my Instagram stories.

FB marketplace finds and Buy Nothing groups

Y’all know I love to thrift, but I generally strike out at thrift stores for furniture. I can never quite find what I am looking for. Recently, I have been utilizing my local Buy Nothing group and Facebook marketplace for random things that I want.

Theo has been loving coloring lately, and so I wanted to get him a little desk or table and chair. Found this one for free on Facebook Marketplace and picked it up same day! It’s a little ugly but I gave it a good clean and it’s getting the job done. If y’all have any ideas on how I should spruce it up, I would love ideas!!!

Friday Favorites: Volume 39

Ab Coaster

If y’all are sick of hearing about fitness, skip this one. I normally alternate legs and arms on my days at the gym, but I have recently started to incorporate more abs on my arm days. They have this ab coaster (not sure what the official name is) at Planet Fitness and I am loving it! The dynamic movement reminds me of using a Pilates reformer. I love doing Pilates reformer classes; however, they are SO expensive! This feels like I am getting some similar moves to that with this. Plus it really has been activating my abs like nothing else!

Friday Favorites: Volume 39

Barebells Protein Bars

I’ve shared my love for these before, but these Barebells protein bars are my FAVORITE protein bars. They aren’t ultra-chewy like some protein bars I have tried and literally taste like a candy bar! If you are trying to get more protein into your diet, thee bars will be the tastiest way you can accomplish that goal.

Crock-pot and 1 Pot Recipes

I have decided that 2024 is the year that I really take full advantage of my crock-pot. Cooking with a toddler is not always easy, so being able to just dump ingredients into my crock pot while he naps and then have dinner ready at 6 pm is literally a dream come true. Why haven’t I been using it more since he was born???

If you have any crock-pot recipes that you love, please send them my way!!

🍩 2-INGREDIENT DOUGHNUTS 🍩 All you need is a can o 🍩 2-INGREDIENT DOUGHNUTS 🍩
All you need is a can of biscuit dough and oil to make the favorite breakfast of my childhood!
Once you pop open your can of biscuit dough and separate the individual biscuits, you can cut a hole in the center and GENTLY add them to oil heated to 350-375 degrees. CAREFULLY flip over once brown on one side and once both sides are perfectly golden, transfer to a paper towel lined plate to drain excess oil.
Of course you can’t go without toppings! Our favorites are cinnamon sugar, powdered, and strawberry glazed, but you could make chocolate frosting, vanilla frosting, or even jelly filled! The possibilities are endless when the doughnuts are this easy to make 😊
My toddler absolutely loved this first day of summer treat, let me know if you try it! #toddlermom #funbreakfast #whimsy #whimsicalchildhood #recipe

So happy with how it turned out, and it ended up being such an inexpensive facelift! Raising the shower curtain rod and sewing 2 inexpensive ikea shower curtains together definitely brought some color and funkiness into the space. And changing out the light fixture and framing off the builder grade mirror were such inexpensive upgrades that made a big difference!
