Cheap At Home Lip Boost?: Peptides with Hyraulanic Acid

Beauty

Last year, I was starting to notice volume loss in my lips- especially my upper lip, and I wanted to find an effective non-invasive solution. I tried The Inkey List Peptide Lip Balm with some okay results, but I wanted to try some other products.

Now let me say that I have nothing against people who choose to get lip filler, but my doctor recommended against it for me personally because of my autoimmune disease. Plus the migration that can happen makes me not too interested in lip filler.

Non-Invasive Lip Filler?

I’ve seen a few videos by dermatologists saying that hyaluronic acid and peptides when applied 3 times a day can produce filler-like results, and I assume they are referring to either this 2009 study or this 2018 study. Now when I started this “experiment”, I was having a hard time finding a product that had both other than this Paula’s choice balm. Now that I’ve DIYed my own two step regimen for this (that is more cost effective than the Paula’s choice balm), I’ve found more products similar to Paula’s choice at a better price point that I plan to test out. I’m excited to try out a formulation that already has hyaluronic and peptides in it because my method was not conducive for reapplying in the middle of the day, so I was only applying twice a day.

Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid Results

I was applying hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary (under $10) and then following up with this Byoma Peptide Lip Mask (also under $10). I find it most helpful to apply the hyaluronic acid right after washing my face so that my lips are still a tiny bit wet. Then once that dries down, I apply the lip mask. I really like the lip mask and the texture of it– it’s not too sticky!

After almost 4 months of 2 applications per day, here are my results:

After (June 4th, 2025):

I do think my lips look more moisturized after 4 months of consistent use, and I notice maybe a super small difference in my upper lip fullness. But I am really excited to try some new products that already have both peptides and hyaluronic acid so that I can apply more frequently and hopefully have more results!

It might sound kind of silly, but I want to create a peaceful haven in my bedroom for postpartum because the newborn trenches are tough!

I’m going for neutral in here, but more layered, earthy, textured and elevated (without feeling formal). Next up is styling my bed, giving my nightstands and dressers and makeover, and lots more decor and styling! #homediy #pregnancy #bedroommakeover #bedroomdecor
