If you are like me and are constantly seeing videos of people making or buying charm necklaces (especially at places like Brooklyn Charm), and are wondering where to do such a thing, you’ve come to the right place! This is such a fun idea to do for a Galentine’s date idea in Charlotte, or just a fun activity to do with a friend or daughter! I visited Beads Inc in Charlotte to make my own charm necklace and I am absolutely in love with it!
I visited Beads Inc in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte probably 5 years ago and made bracelets with a friend. When charm necklaces started getting really trendy, I realized they were probably the place to go to DIY one myself!
The part that I like the most about doing your charm necklace here, rather than buying the stuff at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, or another craft store, is that they have all the tools available for you to use at their store! That way you don’t have to buy your own jewelry making tools for this DIY project. Also, their staff can help you if you aren’t sure what things you need, or how exactly to make the necklace. Last reason why, is they are a small local business for Charlotte!!!
If you want a little tutorial on how exactly to make a charm necklace before you go, here is a quick example of what you will be doing!:
They have a pretty good selection of charms and chain types to choose from too. And everything is priced per bead/charm/inch of chain, so you just have to buy exactly what you need and nothing more. All in, I spent about $45 on my necklace, which isn’t too bad considering how much a lot of gold charm necklaces sell for these days.
I am so happy with my how my charm necklace turned out and I have been wearing it ALL the time! Probably am going to find myself back again soon to make another 🙂
