Welcome to this corner of the internet that I am naming, “The Regular Folks”!
If you are reading this, congrats! You are reading the very first post of this blog.
I first started blogging in high school with a food blog. It was relatively successful at the time, and I loved it, but kind of fell apart when I went to college. Partially because:
a. I literally only had a microwave for two years on the dorms
b. I had no time
c. I was poor
d. It was hard to act as a foodie when I was literally living off cafeteria food, microwave popcorn, and cookout.
I have started and stopped a couple of blogs now, enjoying the community of blogging and sharing my ideas, but never really having a niche to focus a blog on. While I thought about starting another food blog, I have so many more interests now, that I really did not want to put this blog in a box.
So what is this blog? Part lifestyle, part food, part travel, part style, part whatever else I want it to be– and whatever you as the reader want it to be!
Really the encompassing idea of this blog is for it all to be realistic. I read a ton of amazing blogs about fashion, food, home, etc., but they often feel like the food they are posting is for someone who readily has a billion odd ingredients at their disposal and throws dinner parties on the reg. And the fashion ones are tailored towards people who have the money to spend the equivalent of my biweekly paycheck on a pair of shoes that I know I would break my ankle in anyway.
This blog is tailored for you, people who like the idea of all of these things, yet know realistically that it’s not happening. I call us regular folks.
