Wow! Long time no see! In case you’re new here: Hi! I’m Sara Ann and I run The Regular Folks which is a lifestyle blog with a little bit of everything. I like to do a “Favorite Things” post every Friday but I have been in grad school finishing up my Master’s in Nursing so it hasn’t happened in a while. But I graduated a few weeks ago and I’m ready to get back on the blog grind! Plus, I know today is Saturday, but I was having technical issues with the blog that forced me to wait until today to upload.
I hope all of y’all had a great Christmas/holiday season, and you are ready for more content here at The Regular Folks. 2019 was such a huge year of growth for the blog, and I cannot wait to see what 2020 brings. Be sure to follow me on socials (located at the top right corner) and if there’s ever something you want to see more of (or less of) shoot me a DM. I love connecting with you all!
That was more rambling than I normally do at the beginning of this, so let’s jump in!
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer
I got one of these for Christmas after having it on my Amazon wish-list for like a year. I’ve only used it twice so far (because I don’t wash my super thick hair but every 3 days lol), but my hair has looked SO GOOD! Because my hair is thick and retains water like crazy, trying to blow dry it KILLS my arms. Plus I have zero coordination with a round brush and a hair dryer.
But this thing combines the two and makes it so much easier! No more air drying and then straightening in the morning for me. I really love this thing!!!
Chicken and Dumplings Recipe
As the weather has been getting colder, G and I have been craving cozy soups <3 I have been making this recipe probably every two weeks for a couple months. I do find that I have to cook the biscuits/dumplings a little bit longer than the recipe calls for, but it’s a great recipe and SO tasty!
I’m actually made this last night, but the store was all out of canned biscuit dough, so I grabbed crescent rolls. I actually liked it more because the dumpling dough was thinner and cooked more evenly.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Stick
I feel kind of goofy pulling this out of my purse because it looks like a sunscreen stick (lol), but this stuff is bomb. It is so much more moisturizing than regular chap-stick (or even Burt’s Bees!). I’ve been carrying it around with me especially at work, because the air is so dry in the hospital!
Vital Proteins Collagen Powder
Collagen powder is something that I am adding into my supplement routine. I have used it before and saw an improvement with my skin, but stopped using it for some reason. I recently bought some more of it though, and I’ve just been adding it to my coffee. You can’t taste it at all, but it’s great for hair, skin, and nails, and I’ve even heard that it can help with gut health!
Last but not least, it’s been probably 5 months since I updated my letter board, so I finally did so with an absolute mood for this winter.

Hey there! My name is Elise, and I’m a 20-something travel Nurse with my husband! I came across your blog and have really enjoyed it! We are actually looking to come and check out Charlotte and I was just wondering if you had any insight as far as hospitals to work at and areas that would be nice to settle in? 🙂

I actually do not have Instagram and I’m not seeing your email anywhere on here? (Maybe it’s because I’m on my phone?) but feel free to email me if you’re able to see mine from getting this comment!
