Favorite Things: Vol. XXVIV

Happy Friday to all! I am so glad to have made it through another week. This transition to night shift has NOT been easy, but I can feel it getting easier with each week. But night shift surely makes me LIVE for the weekends!

Let’s go ahead and jump into my favorite things for the past week or so 🙂

Hello, Sailor

If you live in Charlotte and have yet to visit Hello, Sailor, do yourself a favor and make yourself a reservation now. It’s on the lake (VIEWS FOR DAYS), they have a bangin’ drink menu (Aperol spritz on tap!!!!), they have hushpuppies (my love language), and some of the best casual seafood I have had in Charlotte. Oh, and for dessert? Order the citrus ice cream. The chef created it with the intention of it tasting like the Flinstones ice cream pops you probably had as a kid– and he nailed it.

DIY Quote Wall Art

Whenever I am at home boutiques, I always gravitate towards the framed canvas quotes or bible verses. And then I see the price tag and I am reminded as to why I have yet to buy one.

But it is so easy to do it yourself! I started off and found a downloadable pdf of a verse I love on Etsy (here’s the exact one I bought) for under $6. I downloaded it and uploaded it to Office Depot who printed it next day on canvas for me ($12). Then I bought this frame from Hobby Lobby and mounted my canvas in it.

I secured it with some small nails and wood glue and had to add some mounting hardware, but it only took me like an hour to do. Super easy and a lot cheaper to do it yourself!

Garlic Butter Baked Brie

Look how buttery <3

I’ve always had a deep love for brie. Growing up, Sunday nights were always the night where we would kind of just make random snack things and eat leftovers from the week. Baked brie was a frequent thing we would make on those nights, and it was always my fave. Here is the recipe I used to make this brie (very easy!).

Portal Charlotte

Portal is an “interactive art gallery” pop-up in Charlotte (aka it’s a bunch of set-ups that make for fun Instagram photos). I had briefly heard of this place but didn’t really have any intention on going here. We had a date night in Uptown last weekend and stumbled across it. I honestly didn’t realize what it was, but we decided spontaneously to check it out. Admission is $17.50 a person, and definitely has some cute places to take a photo. But we mostly goofed off 😉

Have a great weekend!

(P.S. if you buy something through my direct links, I may earn a small commission) 🙂
