Favorite Things: Vol. I

Favorite Things· Life

One thing that I did on my first blog was a “Friday Favorites” post. It’s definitely not an original idea of mine, but I liked doing it, so I’m planning on continuing it with this blog.

I’ll post a few things that I fell in love with during the week, whether it’s something I did, bought, tried, or even just saw on the internet.

On Tuesday, I did an awesome workout and the next day I had a horrible cold. Does that ever happen to anyone after they start getting into a regular fitness routine?

Anyway, I powered through and went to work on Thursday despite barely having a voice and coughing like a smoker. For lunch, I went to the Starbucks in the hospital to grab a sandwich and coffee when I saw that they had a new drink called the Citrus Defender. It’s the Teavana defense tea, steamed lemonade, and honey, and it saved my life. Or at least made me feel better for a couple hours. Anyway, next time you’re sick, try it out!

Prior to getting knocked down by a cold, I was hanging out at Goodwill, because why not.

And before you turn up your noses to the idea of my regularly going to Goodwill, I honestly find SO much cute stuff there. And I wash it all like a million times. I’ve found perfect pairs of Madewell Jeans, scrub tops with tags still on, LOFT tops, and so much more. Anyway, I was looking at the skirts and found a good quality denim skirt from Gap, but it was a little bit longer than I liked, so I literally just cut it shorter and frayed it a bit at the bottom. Now its an adorable denim mini skirt and I literally paid $3.99 for it. Despite the fact that it was literally 22 degrees earlier this week, I’ve been really obsessed with denim skirts lately. Needless to say, I’m very excited for it to warm up so that I can rock it.

And here’s a cool DIY project on how to turn a pair of old jeans into a denim mini if you’re as into them as I am rn.

I went to a soda shoppe in Charlotte like a month ago with some friends and ordered a slice of Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie. I normally don’t order dessert at restaurants but oh-my-goodness I’m so glad I did this time. Anyway I’ve been dreaming about that pie ever since, and when I stumbled across this recipe on Pinterest, I think literally drooled on my keyboard. It’s got great reviews, plus it sounds easy and decadent enough. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I’ll let you know how it goes when I do.

While I’m laying on the couch sniffling, cuddling with my dog Lola, and just generally feeling sorry for myself, I really love watching Fixer Upper on Hulu. I’m literally obsessed with everything about that family. So when G and I do finally purchase a home, you better believe I’m going to DIY everything in that house to make it look like Joanna Gaines designed it. I was watching one particular episode where they did a accent wall with exposed stone rather than exposed brick. I’m a big fan of exposed brick, but I reallyyyy liked the exposed stone on the episode. I’ve been struggling to find a picture of the exact one from the episode, but here’s one of the millions of examples I saved to my home board on Pinterest. Brb convincing G to love it too.

Enjoy your weekend, friends!!

xoxo, Sara Ann
